Shoe Boxes for the Homeless

Posted 25 October 2018

Shoebox-appealIn November (in connection with a local homeless shelter) we will be collecting and filling empty shoe boxes with winter necessities and toiletries to distribute to those in need.

During the winter in 2017 as the UK saw temperatures plummet to -13, over 78 people died and the need is now greater than ever.

Shoe boxes for the Homeless means filling small boxes for either a male or female full of essentials they might need when they arrive at the shelter.

Poundland & Primark are great places to get toiletries (toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, deodorant, etc) and warm clothing (such as socks, gloves, hats, thermals etc) no perishable food though please. J
You could then gift-wrap the boxes and decorate them if you feel creative!

If you would like to get involved and fill a box yourself that would be absolutely amazing and very much appreciated but there is no obligation and anything you can do will make a huge difference to someone’s life.

Please contact Dave Segust or Heather Hidden directly if you would like to fill a box and we can arrange to collect the boxes over the next month or so during our travels.

If you want to join in please drop your box in to one of First Call Contract Services offices. Please click here to find your nearest office
