At First Call Contract Services we are the agency of choice for many of the UK’s largest users of contract labour. We can offer contract positions across a wide breadth of industries and as a leading job recruitment agency are best placed to match you with a suitable role.
The easiest way to convey what your skill set is and where your experience lies is with a CV. Although we do not demand a CV like most recruitment agents would, it helps match roles quicker and some candidates prefer to get their info down on paper. So we’ve pulled on our experience in contract recruitment and put together a few tips for improving your CV:
Quantify your achievements – Using numbers / percentages to quantify your achievements and responsibilities
Use an attractive CV design – try and create your CV in a unique style to grab the reader’s attention! Do remember though, it has to be easy and clear to read – too many font types and multiple colours will put them off. Stick to black and white!
Check, check and check again! – Mistake within a CV are the biggest put-off. Get friends or family members to proofread for you before sending it off.
Avoid Pronouns – Kept sentences short and snappy. Preferably beginning with action words.
Contact details – the most common mistake on CVs, surprisingly, is out-of-date contact details, be it for yourself or your references. Also be wary of your answerphone message; a jokey one may be greeted positively by friends but could put a potential employer off!
