    Job Title: Manufacturing Operative
    Location: Braintree

    Salary: £27,000 – £28,000 per annum
    Hours: 39 hours per week

    • Monday to Thursday: 7:25am – 4:30pm (45-minute lunch break)
    • Friday: 7:30am – 1:10pm (no lunch break)

    Purpose of Role:

    The Manufacturing Operative will be responsible for assembling, testing, and packing Fuse Switches in accordance with in-house training and Work Instructions. This role is suited for someone who can work independently after initial training and is comfortable with repetitive tasks, while focusing on quality and efficiency.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Assemble, quality check, and test Fuse Switch products.
    • Pack finished goods and kits for dispatch.
    • Use hand tools to perform manual assembly tasks.
    • Adhere to working practices and procedures for the FSA Assembly area.
    • Maintain cleanliness of work areas and equipment.
    • Monitor stock levels and notify the Operations Team Leader of shortages.
    • Handle the receipt of goods and ensure correct storage locations.
    • Assist with the annual stock take process.
    • Ensure safety compliance, continually improving working environments by using risk assessments, work instructions, and safe systems of work.
    • Maintain accurate logs, records, and departmental documentation.
    • Follow all Health and Safety standards, including legal requirements under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 and Management of Health & Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
    • Perform any other reasonable duties requested by management.

    Key Requirements:

    • Basic IT skills
    • Ability to work independently and take initiative after training.
    • Strong attention to detail and comfortable with repetitive tasks.
    • Familiarity with EH&S (Environmental, Health & Safety) protocols, such as COSHH & Risk Assessments.
    • Knowledge of hand tools and basic assembly techniques.
    • Good understanding of documentation and inventory management processes.
