Job Title: Transport Manager
Salary: Up to £40,000 per annum DOE
Working Hours: 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM, Monday to Friday
Overview:
Our client is seeking an experienced and highly organised Transport Manager to oversee all aspects of their transport operations. In this role, you will ensure compliance, maintain vehicle safety standards, and manage a team of 5 drivers and 9 vehicles to deliver efficient and reliable service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Team Management: Lead, motivate, and manage a team of 9 drivers to ensure timely and safe deliveries.
- Compliance: Ensure all vehicles meet legal and company standards, including PMI vehicle checks and tachometer regulations.
- Tachometer Usage: Oversee the correct usage of tachographs to monitor driving hours and ensure adherence to legal driving times and rest periods.
- Vehicle Inspections: Schedule and oversee Preventive Maintenance Inspections (PMIs) for all company vehicles to maintain safety and operational standards.
- License & Records Management: Ensure all drivers’ licenses are up-to-date, compliant, and free from penalty points, adhering to the O- License holder requirement.
- Health & Safety: Ensure compliance with health and safety standards across the fleet and transport operations.
- Operational Planning: Oversee daily logistics to maximise fleet efficiency, reduce costs, and maintain high levels of customer service.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Proven experience as a Transport Manager in a similar role.
- Strong knowledge of transport legislation and tachometer management.
- Previous experience managing a team of drivers.
- In-depth understanding of PMI vehicle checks and fleet compliance.
- Excellent leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
- Must hold a full, clean UK driving license.
- Proficiency in transport management software and Microsoft Office.
