Job Opportunity: 7.5t Driver
Location: Chessington
Salary: £30,300
Days: Monday to Friday
Working Hours: Starting from 05:00 on a 40-hour contract (must be flexible as times may vary depending on traffic or other factors) and finishing from 2:00pm (most drivers finish earlier, typically 2-3 hours earlier, but are paid for the full contracted hours)
Our client is seeking a reliable and customer-focused 7.5t driver to join their team in Chessington. As a 7.5t driver, you will be responsible for delivering parcels and goods to commercial destinations, whilst ensuring you maintain the highest standards of service and professionalism at all times. This is a dynamic and hands-on role, where you’ll need to demonstrate flexibility in managing your route, paperwork, vehicle checks, loading, unloading, and customer deliveries. Your role is critical in maintaining excellent service standards and ensuring the efficient operation of daily deliveries.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct daily vehicle safety checks, reporting any faults to your line manager.
- Ensure the vehicle is kept in a roadworthy and clean condition.
- Assist with loading the vehicle, ensuring payload limits and axle weights are adhered to.
- Ensure compliance with the Company Operators Licence and relevant regulations.
- Complete scheduled deliveries on time and in full.
- Ensure Proof of Delivery (POD) paperwork is accurate and authorised.
- Maintain a high degree of attention to detail, completing tasks efficiently and accurately.
- Collaborate effectively as part of a team to meet company objectives.
- Communicate clearly and professionally with customers, peers, and management.
- Present a professional and courteous image to customers at all times.
- Follow all health and safety procedures, ensuring compliance with vehicle and environmental policies.
- Wear and maintain company uniform, keeping it clean and presentable.
- Report accidents immediately following company procedures.
Qualifications:
- Full UK driving licence with no more than 3 points.
- Driver CPC Qualification Card.
- Digital Tachograph Card.
Requirements:
- Held a driving licence for a minimum of 2 years.
- Ability to establish and maintain good client relationships, both internally and externally at all levels.
- Local area knowledge – London specifically.
Desirable:
- Hand held terminal experience
- HGV class 2 licence
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist with stock checks and other duties within the warehouse as required.
- Route planning to ensure deliveries are completed efficiently.
- Accurately check and receive goods into the warehouse.
- Follow company procedures for fuel efficiency, safety, and environmental standards.
