Depot Supervisor

Summary:

• Permanent Contract
• Based in Tamworth
• Various shifts, 43 hours per week, days between Monday to Saturday.
• week 1 and 2 = Mon-Fri, week 3 = Mon Tue Thurs Fri Sat, week 4 = Wed Thurs Fri Sat
• Earlies, Mids and Lates. Fairly rotated.
• £30’000 per year + good shift allowance and bonus scheme

Job Duties of a Depot Supervisor:

• To control all aspects of the satellite delivery function out of the satellite depot, including the scheduling of deliveries, allocation of loads, monitoring of delivery performance and maintenance of efficient delivery service in line with the company customer service targets.
• To efficiently manage resources to ensure that all deliveries are dispatched in a punctual and cost-effective manner whilst maintaining budgetary targets, through appropriate allocation of routes, drivers and mates.
• To ensure successful delivery performance, through monitoring driver performance throughout the day and taking pro-active remedial action as necessary to achieve targets.
• Review and action feedback via the NPS system with drivers & mates.
• To manage customer queries regarding failed deliveries in a courteous and professional manner and take prompt remedial action.
• To maintain above 99.5% Attributable Service Level through effective communication with all staff of expectations and targets.
• To promote the Company core values and behaviours.
• To ensure full compliance of the hand held terminal, usage, start time and 3-hour delivery adherence.
• Manage first stage disciplinary situations.
• To maintain accurate records on the Drive to provide clear, punctual and accurate reporting on key performance indicators to the Depot Manager and senior management team.

Requirements of a Depot Supervisor:

Knowledge

• Knowledge of industry legislation e.g. tachograph and driving hours regulations.
• Extensive knowledge and experience of transport operations and legal responsibilities
• Basic awareness of health and safety legislation.

Skills

• PC literate, particularly Microsoft Excel.
• Clamp/fork truck Licence would be advantageous.
• Ability to work in a high-pressure, fast-moving environment.
• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Good communicator, both verbal and written

Experience

• Experience of leading a small team would be advantageous.
• Experience of working in a customer-focused environment
• Supervisory or management experience of working in a multi-drop environment would be advantageous. A candidate with an O Licence would also be desirable.
