Working Hours: 07:30/08:00 – 16:00/16:30 (with a 30-minute lunch break, flexible start time as above)
Salary Package: £28K – £35K (Depending on Experience)

Job Overview:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Import Coordinator to oversee customs clearance and ensure compliance with all import regulations. This key role will involve liaising with HMRC, customs authorities, airlines, and internal teams to maintain smooth import operations. You will manage all customs clearance processes for courier and cargo imports (Air & Road), ensuring adherence to legal requirements and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete daily customs clearance entries for courier and cargo imports (Air & Road), from start to finish.
- Monitor Duty and VAT using internal systems and software.
- Manage all customs requirements, including dealing with Border Force and EU customs.
- Ensure compliance with import regulations and HMRC requirements.
- Communicate with internal departments regarding shipments and updates.
- Liaise with airlines for BI and Shed transfers.
- Arrange airline collections for transfer to ETSF (External Temporary Storage Facility).
- Collaborate with HMRC and other government bodies.
- Handle a variety of commodities and oversee weekly bond checks at the ETSF warehouse.
- Release shipments from the warehouse.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as required (office-based role predominantly).
- Provide quick and efficient resolution of queries and concerns.
- Deliver high levels of customer service in all communications.
- Demonstrate a self-managing and proactive work style.
- Work effectively in a team environment, supporting colleagues where needed.
- Undertake filing and general administrative tasks.
- Assist management and provide cover where required.
Essential Requirements:
- Previous experience in Courier Import or related customs clearance roles.
- Experience with low-value bulk clearance (BIRDS).
- Proficient in using CDS (Customs Declaration Service).
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with Descartes (e-customs platform).
- Knowledge of NCTS (Transit System) and handling T1 documents.
