Salary: £40,000 – £60,000 per annum DOE

Hours: Monday to Thursday: 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM, Friday: 8:30 AM – 3:00 PM
Role Summary:
The Sprinkler Project Engineer / Senior Project Engineer is responsible for coordinating and managing sprinkler system, dry riser, and wet riser installations. The role requires overseeing project timelines, budgets, and resources, ensuring adherence to industry standards, and maintaining effective communication with clients and stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be self-sufficient in project management, with excellent support for checking and advice available.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Planning and Coordination:
- Develop and implement detailed project plans, including scope, timelines, and resource allocation.
- Coordinate with clients, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure all project requirements are met.
- Schedule and lead project meetings to track progress and address any issues.
- Budget Management:
- Prepare, manage, and report on project budgets, including future forecasting.
- Approve expenditures and ensure projects remain within budget.
- Identify and manage any financial risks or discrepancies.
- Team Management:
- Lead and manage project teams, ensuring delegation of tasks and responsibilities where necessary.
- Provide training and support to ensure the team possesses the necessary skills and knowledge for the project.
- Quality Assurance and Compliance:
- Ensure all projects comply with relevant industry standards, local regulations, and safety protocols.
- Conduct quality checks and inspections throughout the project lifecycle.
- Address any compliance issues promptly and effectively.
- Ensure adherence to the company’s Health and Safety Policy and Employee Handbook.
- Client Communication and Relationship Management:
- Maintain regular communication with clients, providing updates and addressing concerns.
- Foster strong client relationships to ensure satisfaction and repeat business.
- Handle client complaints or issues professionally, ensuring prompt resolution.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, including contracts, plans, and reports.
- Prepare and present project status reports to clients and stakeholders.
- Ensure proper archival of all project documentation upon completion.
- Risk Management:
- Identify potential project risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
- Monitor and manage risks throughout the project lifecycle.
- Respond promptly to emergencies or issues that arise during the project.
- Continuous Improvement:
- Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices through CPD or other means.
- Implement process improvements to enhance project efficiency and quality.
- Encourage innovative solutions and improvements from team members.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in sprinkler, riser, or related engineering disciplines.
- LPCB Certification is a significant benefit.
- Familiarity with BS EN 12845 is essential.
- Knowledge of BS 9251, NFPA, and FM BS 9990 is preferred.
- Ability to work self-sufficiently in managing projects with excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong communication and client management skills.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and resources effectively.
